Phlox Garden Design
Brand Identity • Print
Phlox is a horticulture design company that works with communities, businesses, and individuals to create sustainable edible landscapes in Tupelo, Mississippi.
Logo Mark
Focusing on founders Nicole Dikon and Chasiti McGee's mission to empower communities to grow their own sustainable edible landscapes, the logo mark takes an upward trajectory.
The name Phlox references the Wild Blue Phlox, a plant native to Mississippi that helps sustain other forms of life in the region. It symbolizes Nicole and Chasiti's approach to landscaping, prioritizing partnership within communities and harmony with the environment.
Typography & Color
The primary brand font, P22 Mackinac, was chosen for its welcoming look. Its sturdy, yet soft serifs subtly reference the stems of plants. Supporting fonts Arboria and GT Pressura Mono lend a gentle air of authority and hint at Phlox's scientific approach to gardening.
The color palette is inspired by colors across the seasons in Tupelo, Mississippi, from rich evergreen, to autumnal ochre, to juicy tomato red.
